Hi, I'm Petra
I've been gardening and growing plants for the majority of my life. It wasn't until recently that the overflow of houseplant cuttings and overall lack of space have prompted me to start this web shop.
All the plants are grown by me in a sustainable way right here in our living room or kitchen. To make your plant-parent experience as smooth as possible I also offer top-notch planting substrates, fertilizers and plant accessories to make your new green additions pop even brighter.

To help battle my camera-shyness I take a selfie with every plant that I sell and keep them all in Highlights on my Instagram page.
First Steps
The first house plants I ever propagated were my mom's African violet and my grandma's golden pothos. Can't beat the OGs!
Team Work
I'd lie if I said I do everything by myself. My best friend Pia is here with all the photos, videos and plant talk that I need and my boyfriend Aljaz takes care of 3D printing.
Grow in the heart of Europe
The Black Dog Foliage nano nursery is based in Slovenia, Europe on the sunny side of the Alps. Our micro location is a small hillside homestead where we (Petra & Aljaz) share our lives with more than 1000 plants, 15 goats, 10 chickens, 1 dog and 3 children.
